Introduction

Sameer is a litigation lawyer specialising in criminal and civil litigation. He read law at the University of Nottingham (LL.B. Hons, 2020) and was called to the Singapore Bar as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court in 2022.   • High-value investment dispute: Represented a multibillion-dollar investment corporation, obtaining declarations that resulted in damages of roughly S$250 million.

  • High value margin-trading dispute: Acted for an ultra-high-net-worth individual (“UHNWI”) against a global financial services firm in a complex claim involving silver-futures margin trading, duress, undue influence and misrepresentation ([2024] SGHC 18; [2024] SGHC(A) 29).

 

  • Legal privilege & sealing order: Sameer acted as Lead counsel for Gabriel Law Corporation before Justice Philip Jeyaretnam; successfully resisted an application for production of documents by the receivers and managers of the assets of an UHNWI, prevailing on novel arguments of legal professional privilege and the effect of a sealing order in Singapore law ([2025] SGHC 128).

3. Criminal litigation

  • Singapore’s largest money-laundering case (S$3 billion): Acted for the first accused to plead guilty in what remains the largest money-laundering prosecution in Singapore’s history. The case involved assets spread across multiple jurisdictions and complex cross-border legal matters.   • High-profile sexual-offence proceedings: Represented a well-known online personality charged with serious sexual offences before the High Court. The matter attracted nationwide attention for its application of the “unusually convincing” standard and the general factual matrix of the matter.   • E-vaporiser sentencing framework: Currently representing an accused person in a test-case matter at the forefront of Singapore’s developing sentencing regime for e-vaporiser offences.
